Redmi Note 4 one of the highest selling smartphone in India will be getting the new update MiUi 9 based on Android Nougat. Previously Redmi Note 4 was not included in the list of smartphones receiving this new update, however now it is confirmed. Flipkart teaser has confirmed it. Flipkart page for Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 sale on August 2 includes saying that Nougat update for handset is coming soon. But still the update Nougat build for RN4 is in beta phase at the moment. In flipkart also for the handset Android Nougat is mentioned as Upgradable OS though version number has not been made clear.
Devices ready for this update includes Xiamoi Mi max, Mi Note 2, Redmi Note 4, Mi Mix, Mi 5, Mi 5s, Mi 5s plus.
Devices ready for Android 7.1 Nougat includes Xiamoi Mi 6, Mi Max 2, Mi 5c, Redmi 4.
Redmi Note 4 sold in India is based on China version of Redmi Note 4X rather than Redmi Note 4.
