State owned telecom operator on Thursday announced their broadband users to change their default system password after a section of its broadband system was hit by a malware attack earlier this week. Due to this malware it attacked nearly 2000 broadband modems, the attack was mainly on the users who had not changed the default password admin.
BSNL chairman Anupam Shrivastava told that malware has not attacked BSNL'S core network, billing, or any other network. He also told that during the attack, malware was changing the password of users who were using admin as their password, due to this the affected modems were not able to login.
He also told that this attack occurred earlier this week adding that BSNL call centres were proactive reaching out to users to alert them about this malware & advised about precautionary measures.
