Custom duty on imported bikes down to 50 percent!! Super bikes at cheaper price?

Government has slashed customs duty to 50 per cent. So as a result of this we can get the imported bikes at a lower price. All Imported motorcycles from high-end brands are set to get cheaper. Previously for importing a motorcycles with engine capacity of 800cc or less we needed to pay 60 per cent duty & moving on to the higher capacity of 800cc or more we needed to pay 75 per cent duty. 

The custom duty was slashed by (CBEC) The Central Board of Excise and Customs. The (CBEC) made this through a notification on February 12, The custom duty has been  slashed  on both variants of motorcycles imported as completely build units  to 50 per cent. According to the CBEC notification, import duty on engine, gearbox, or transmission mechanism as a completely knocked down (CKD) kit in pre-assembled form of motorcycles, not mounted on a body assembly, has been reduced to 25 per cent. These pre-assembled parts attracted customs duty of 30 per cent earlier. 

Result

So as a result of this we can get our super bikes at a lower price.
