Facebook on Tuesday said that 2 billion people are regularly using its service.
Facebook Chief executive Zuckerberg disclosed the number to his followers in a Facebook post. He wrote "It's a honor to be on this journey with you".
Facebook defines a monthly active user as a registered Facebook user who logged in & visited Facebook through its website or a mobile device or used its messenger app in the past 30 days.
Facebook reached 1 billion users in October 2012. Facebook's growth has increasingly come from outside the United States, Europe, Canada.
Facebook was started in 2004 where Zuckerberg developed it in his college dorm.
