Whatsapp offline for hours?

Hello,
          Whatsapp users were not able to send and receive message for 2- 3 hours. Whatsapp has more than 1.2 billion people globally. People were not able to send or receive anything. Whatsapp said they were aware of this issue & they working on it to fix it soon.

Whatsapp has not said anything about this issue.
Dave Anderson a digital experience expert, told BBC that an update to the app would have caused the problem. Whatsapp is continuously improving its features.
